AREA OF RECTANGLE = LENGTH × BREADTH

= 16×9

= 144m²

side of square whose area is equal to 144m²

144 = side²

side² = 144

side = √144

side = 12 m

so the side of square whose area is equal to area of rectangle of sides 16m by 9m is 12m

area of square = 4 × side

= 4 × 12

= 48m

area of rectangle = 2( l + b )

= 2(16+9)

= 2(25)

= 50 m

50m - 48 m = 2m

So. by 2m perimeter of rectangle is exceeds the perimeter of square
