do it by applying herons formula as s = p/2 = 32/2 =16
area=under root 16(6)(6)(4)
=48

smithiya: please tell me the proper solution
raghavsethi11cpeh45i: can't be done using keypad
raghavsethi11cpeh45i: under root 16(16-10)(16-10)(16-12) =under root 16×6×6×4=48
raghavsethi11cpeh45i: respond????

given the length of equal sides of the isosceles triangle is 10cm each and the third side is 12cm.

therefore semi-perimeter of the triangle = (10 + 10 + 12)/2

= 32/2

= 16cm

let the three sides of the triangle be a, b and c

by using heron's formula = [tex]\sqrt{s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)} \\ = \sqrt{16(16-10)(16-10)(16-12)} \\ = \sqrt{16*6*6*4} \\ =\sqrt{2304} \\ = 48cm^{2}[/tex}

therefore the area of the isosceles triangle is 48cm^2

HOPE THIS HELPS...!!
