ANS-5)Liquids have larger inter-particle distance (intermolecular or interatomic) compared to Solids. So, when liquids are compressed, their inter-particle distance can be reduced to greater extent than the solids. Because in solids, the particles are closely held by strong forces, the intermolecular or interatomic distance is not reduced that much. Hence, liquids are more compressible. In gases the particles have a lot of energy. This means that they are not tightly packed and can move apart. Gases can be compressed because the particles can be forced closer together. The particles in a liquid are already as close as they can be.

ANS-6)
latent heat, also called the heat of vaporization, is the amount of energy necessary to change a liquid to a vapour at constant temperature and pressure. The energy required to melt a solid to a liquid is called the heat of fusion, and the heat of sublimation is the energy.

ANS-8)The examples to show that gases are highly compressible in day to day life are LPG which stored in gas cylinders ,CNG which stored in auto cylinders, air pumped in tyres, etc.
