(1.) We need to convert the units into same units first to perform any calculation.

Therefore, 12 m = 1200 cm and 9 m = 900 cm, since 1 m = 100 cm.

Now, area of the room = 1200 × 900 cm

= 1080000 cm².

Area of one marble tile= 45 × 30 cm

= 1,350 cm²

No. of tiles needed to cover the floor =

1080000/1350 = 800 tiles.

Therefore, 800 tiles are needed to cover the floor.

(2.)Area of original garden = 90 * 75 = 6750 m²

After path is added around rectangle, new length = 90 + 2*5 = 100 m

new breadth = 75 * 2*5 = 85 m

Area of rectangle with path = 100 * 85 = 8500 m²

So area of path = Area of rectangle with path - Area of rectangle without path

Area of path = 8500 - 6750 = 1750 m².

Hope it helps you.
