Sun is the star present in the centre of our solar system. It is nothing but one of the stars of our solar system but still it appears to be bigger than other stars which we see at night often. It is because sun is placed nearer to earth as compared to other stars so it appears to be bigger than them but actually it is smaller than many stars.

The diameter of sun is nearly 1.39 million kilometers.

Now that is really a huge diameter as it is 109 times bigger than the diameter of earth. It is a sphere consisting of really hot plasma.
