Let width of rectangle be x

So length of rectangle = 4x

Area of rectangle = 1024 cm^2

Also area of rectangle = l×b= 4x × x = 4x^2

So, now we have

[tex]4 {x}^{2} = 1024 \\ {x}^{2} = \frac{1024}{4} = 256 \\ x = \sqrt[]{256} = 16[/tex?

Thus ,

Length = 4 (16) = 64 cm

Width = 16 cm

Answer:

Length = 64 cm

Width = 16 cm

 \\ \\

Explanation:

Given:

☛ Length is equal to 4 times of Width of a Rectangle ABCD.

☛ Area of the Rectangle ABCD = 1024cm²

 \\

To Find:

☛ Length and Width of the Rectangle ABCD.

 \\

Solution:

 \\

  \begin{document}</p><p></p><p>\setlength{\unitlength}{1cm}</p><p>\thicklines</p><p>\begin{picture}(10,10)</p><p>\put(2,2){\line(2,0){8}}</p><p>\put(1.5,1.5){\huge{A}}</p><p>\put(2,2){\line(0,2){4}}</p><p>\put(1.5,6.1){\huge{B}}</p><p>\put(2,6){\line(2,0){8}}</p><p>\put(10, 6.2){\huge{C}}</p><p>\put(10,6){\line(0,-2){4}}</p><p>\put(10.2, 1.5){\huge{D}}</p><p></p><p>\end{picture}

 \\ \\

We know,

Area of a Rectangle = Length × Breadth

 \\

So, Given that

Length = 4×Width

Substituting the value of Length and Width in the formula, we get

 \\ \\

☛ Area = Length × Width

☛ Area = 4 × Width × Width { given }

☛ Area = 4Width²

☛ Width² = Area / 4

☛ Width² = 1024/4

☛ Width = √256

 \\

Width = 16cm

 \\

We got, Width = 16cm

Also,

Length = 4 × Width { given }

☛ Length = 4 × 16

 \\

Length = 64cm

 \\ \\

Hence, The Length and Width of the Rectangle ABCD is 64cm and 16cm respectively.
