Given

AD=4cm

BD=8cm

From ΔABD

(AB)^2=(AD) ^2+(BD)^2

=(AB)^2=4^2+8^2

=16+64

=80= square root of 80= 8.9cm.

Answer:

AB =√(BD^2+AD^2)

=√(64+16)

=4√5cm

Let angle ACB=x

or angle CBD=x or angle ABD=x

so triangle ABC ,triangle ABD and triangle BOC similar.

BD/CD=AB/DB

or 8/CD=4/8

or CD =64/4=16cm....
