A chemical change involves a formation of a new product by the method of decomposition reaction. During a chemical change, the mass and number of atoms is conserved, but the number of molecules is not always the sea. Chemical changes require some large amount of energy

In a chemical change, the reactants rearrange themselves in order to form one or more new products having different characteristics than the reactants. When a new substance having different characteristics is formed, this type of change is known or is called as a chemical change.

Examples of Chemical Changes

  1. Burning wood.
  2. Mixing acid and base.
  3. Cooking an egg.
  4. Baking a cake.
  5. Rusting of iron.
