Here, S = { 3 CHILDRENS }

n ( s ) = 3

Let event A be an event having at least two boys.

A = { 2 BOYS }

n ( A ) = 2

P ( A ) = n ( A ) / n ( S )

= 2 / 3

Answer:

There is a probability of a girl child and a boy child and there are 3 children so total number of possible outcomes = ( 2 )( 2 )( 2 )

= 8

The outcomes are :-

1st child 2 child 3rd child

Boy Boy Boy

Boy Boy Girl

Boy Girl Boy

Girl Boy Boy

Boy Girl Girl

Girl Girl Boy

Girl Boy Girl

Girl Girl Girl

Total number of required outcomes out of all these outcomes are 4

So the probability = 4 / 8

= 1 / 2
