Given x = (1/x) - 5

Now,

(1)

x - 1/x = -5.

(2)

On squaring both sides, we get

(x - 1/x)^2 = (-5)^2

x^2 + 1/x^2 - 2 * x * 1/x = 25

x^2 + 1/x^2 - 2 = 25

x^2 + 1/x^2 = 27

(x + 1/x)^2 - 2 = 27

(x +  \frac{1}{x} ) =  \sqrt{29}

(iii).

x^2 - 1/x^2 = (x + 1/x)(x - 1/x)

                  = ( -\sqrt{29} )(-5)

                 = 5 \sqrt{29}

x^2 - 1/x^2 = (x + 1/x)(x - 1/x)

                  = = ( \sqrt{29} )(-5)

                  = = -5 \sqrt{29}

Hope this helps!
