hey user :)
________

7) we will use pythagorean theorem in this question which is.

 hypotenuse^{2} = base^{2} + height^{2}

for the rectangle the base is 40cm and hypotenuse is 41cm

so,

the height would be:

 hypotenuse^{2} =  base^{2} +  height^{2}

 41^{2} =  40^{2} +  height^{2}

1681 = 1600 +  height^{2}

[tex]1681 - 1600 = height^{2} [/tex]

 \sqrt{81} = height

height = 9cm

we know that the perimeter of rectangle would be 2 (l + b)

so,

2(40 + 9)
2 × 49
98 cm

the perimeter of rectangle is 98 cm.

8) we will use pythagorean theorem in this question which is.

 hypotenuse^{2} =  base^{2} +  height^{2}

 hypotenuse^{2}=  5^{2} + 12^{2}

 hypotenuse^{2} =  25 + 144

hypothenuse =  \sqrt{169}

hypotenuse =  13 cm

so, the length of ladder is 13 cm.
