2x² + 6x -6x = 8
2x² = 8

We have been given the value of determinant i. e. 8 now
We know the formula of determinant of a matrix
Applying that formula i. e. (a11*a22-a21*a12)
we get
(x+3)*2x-6x=8
on solving further
2x^2+6x-6x=8
x^2=4
hence x=2,-2
