Answer:

1. 140 km.

2. 16 hrs.

Explanation

1. diesel used to cover 98 km= 14 l

in 1 l the car will cover the distance = 98/14 km = 7 km

now in 20 km the car will cover the distance = 7 x 20 km = 140 km

2. to cover 600 m the tarin takes 12 hrs

so, in to cover 1 km the train will take= 12/600 hr= 0.02 hr

therefore, to cover 800 km the train will take = 800x 0.02 hrs = 16 hrs

how far will it run in 20 litres?

\underline{\overline{\mid{\bold{\purple{Solution:-}}\mid}}}

distance \: covered \: by \: the \: truck \:   using \:  \\   14 \: litres \: of  \: diesel \:  = 98 \: kilometers \\ distance \: covered \: by \: the \: truck \:  using \: \\    1\: litre\: of  \: diesel \:  =  \frac{98}{14} kilometers \\ distance \: covered \: by \: the \: truck \:  using \:   \\  20\: litres \: of  \: diesel \:  =  \frac{98}{14}   \times 20\: kilometers \\  =  \frac{98}{7}  \times 10 \\  =  14 \times 10 \\  = 140 \: kilometers

Therefore, truck will cover 140 km using 20 litres of diesel.

\underline{\overline{\mid{\bold{\orange{Given:-}}\mid}}}

A train covers 600 km in 12 hours.

\underline{\overline{\mid{\bold{\green{To\:find:-}}\mid}}}

How many hours will it take to cover 800 km?

\underline{\overline{\mid{\bold{\gray{Solution:-}}\mid}}}

time \: taken \:  by \: train \: to \: cover \:  \\  600 \: kilometers \:  = 12  \: hours \: \\ time \: taken \:  by \: train \: to \: cover \:  \\  1 \: kilometer \:  =  \frac{12}{600}   \: hours \: \\ time \: taken \:  by \: train \: to \: cover \:  \\  800 \: kilometers \:  =  \frac{12}{600}  \times 800  \: hours \: \\  =  \frac{12}{3}  \times 4 \\  =  4 \times 4 \\  = 16 \: hours

Therefore, train will take 16 hours to cover 800 km.
