Answer: given , (s)depth of well = 44.1 m

Time for splash heard after hitting the stone

t( sound heard) = 0.13 s

Velocity of sound in air = ?

u (initial velocity) of stone = 0 m/s

a (acceleration) of earth = 9.8m/s²

By using second equation if motion, we can find how much time take by stone to travel in air,

s=ut+(1/2)at²

44.1m = 0 (t)+ 1/2 × 9.8 m/s²×t²

44.1m = 4.9m/s²×t²

t² = 44.1m÷4.9m/s²

t² = 9 s⁻²

t = √9 s⁻²

t(air) = 3 s( second)

​For reflected sound wave:

v ( velocity) = s (distance)/ total time

v = 44.1 m / t¹-t(air)

v = 44.1 m / 0.13-3 s

v = 336.23076 m/s

( I used calculator here )

Hence ,

velocity of sound in air = 336.23076 m/s

So according to option it is closed to

(2) 339 m/s
