Question :

A bus is moving with a speed of 20 m/s . Calculate the distance travelled by it in 4 hours

Solution :

Speed (S) = 20 m/s

Time (t) = 4 h = 4 × 60 min

⇒ time (t) = 240 min

⇒ time (t) = 14400 s

Distance (D) = ? m

We know that , " Speed is defined as distance traveled for unit time "

Speed = Distance / Time

➠ 20 = D/ 14400

➠ D = 20 × 14400

D = 288000 m

➠ D = 288 × 1000 m

  • 1 km = 1000 m

➠ D = 288 × 1 km

D = 288 km

Distance traveled in 4 hours is 288 km

Explanation:

bus speed =20m/s

timet=4hours=4 ×60×60 s= 14400s

distance=speed × time

=20 x14400 m

=288000m

=288km

therfore, the distance travelled by bus in 4 hours = 288km
