as we ruff the gold we find something loss in that becuase of the ruffing for nice gold

Some of the gold gets dissolved in the aqua regia during polish, this is the outer dull layer which gets dissolved and washed.Thus, the weight of the new jewellery is lesser compare to the older one which was not polished.
