To find:-

  • Value of x , y and z.

Solution:-

We know that,

Sum of all angles forms on straight line is equal to 180°. This statement is also known as linear pair.

So,

⇒ z + 60° = 180° [Linear pair]

⇒z = 180° - 60°

z = 120°

Similarly,

⇒y + 130° = 180° [Linear pair]

⇒y = 180° - 130°

y = 50°

As we know,

Sum of all interior angles of triangle is equal to 180°. This statement is also known as 'Angle sum property of triangle'.

So,

⇒60° + x + y = 180°

⇒60° + x + 50° = 180°

⇒110° + x = 180°

⇒x = 180° - 110°

x = 70°

Verification:-

⇒60° + x + y = 180°

  • Put x = 70°

⇒60° + 70° + 50° = 180°

⇒180° = 180°

Hence, verified.

Therefore,

Value of x is 70°

Value of y is 50°

Value of z is 120°

AnswEr :-

  • Value of x, y and z are 70°, 50° and 120° respectively.

Given :-

  • A triangle ABC.

To Find :-

  • Values of x , y and z.

SoluTion :-

We know that the sum of the angles on a straight line is 180°

• y + 130° = 180° [ linear pair ]

→ y = 180° - 130°

→ y = 50°

• z + 60° = 180°

→ z = 180° - 60°

→ z = 120°

We know that sum of all three angles of a triangle is 180°.

• x + y + 60° = 180° [ angle sum property ]

→ x + 50° + 60° = 180°

→ x + 110° = 180°

→ x = 180° - 110°

→ x = 70°

Hence,

  • Value of x is 70°
  • Value of y is 50°
  • Value of z is 120°
