Answer:

Given :

Work done to transport 2C charge = 5J ,

Closer point has a potential magnitude of 1V.

To find : Potential difference and potential of farther point

Definitions: Potential difference is the work done to carry a charge from one point to another.

Calculation: Let potential difference be denoted as PD.

So,

PD =( work done)/ ( charge)

PD = 5/2

PD = 2.5 V (1st answer)

Now potential difference

= farther potential- closer pot.

=> 2.5 = (Farther potential) - 1

=> Farther potential = 1+ 2.5 = 3.5V

So 2nd answer is 3.5 V.

Question :-

Find potential difference between two points in the electric field at where 5 J of work be done in carrying 2 C of charge .

If potential of closer point is 1 V then find the potential of another point.

Answer :-

→ Potential difference = 2.5 volt

→ Potential at another point = 3.5 volt

To Find :-

→ Find potential difference and potential at another point.

Formula used :-

  \boxed{\sf{potential \: differece \:  =  \frac{work}{charge} }}

Step - by - step explanation :-

Given that ,

  • Work done in carrying 2 C of charge is 5 J
  • Potential at closer point is 1 Volt
  • Potential difference (v) = ?

Solution :-

Using the given formula ,and substitute the given values .

 \rightarrow \:  \sf{v \:  =  \frac{5}{2}  }\\  \\ \rightarrow \:   \boxed{\sf{v \:  = 2 .5 \:  \: volt}} \\  \\  \\

Let , potential at another point is A

Now ,

Potential difference = ( another - closer ) point

→ 2.5 = A - 1

→ A = 2.5 + 1

→ A = 3.5 volt .

Therefore ,

Potential at another point is 3.5 volt.
