1:combustion is a high temperature exothermic redox reaction between a fuel and a oxidant, usally atmospheric oxygen that produce oxidised, often gaseous products in a mixture termed as smoke.

2: the lowest temperature at which a combustible substance when heated takes fire in air and continues to burn called also autogenous ignation.

3:the reason phosphorus is stored in water is beacuse it will ignite on contact with air. It is kept in water beacuse it is insoluble in water.
