Answer:
This is a diagram depicting Refraction through a Glass slab.
Refraction is defined as the change in direction of light passing from one medium to another or from a gradual change in the medium. It occurs due to change of velocity of light in different medium.
Here, a light ray entering into a glass slab shows refraction and same when emerging out from it. When entering into slab, it bends towards the normal as it is going from rarer to denser medium. And during emergence, it goes from denser to rarer medium, thus bending away from normal.
The angle of incidence will be equal to angle of emergence and thus the incident ray is parallel to the emergent ray, but due to refraction shows lateral displacement.
Snells law will also be applicable as sin i = sin r or sin e = sin r. And also the incident ray, refracted ray and the emergent ray will lie in same plane.
Hope it gives you your answer :)
