To find :

  • the work done by the bullet
  • the power generated by the bullet

Given :

  • initial velocity, u = 0m/s
  • final velocity, v = 20m/s
  • time, t = 10 s
  • mass of bullet, m = 10 g

Formula to be applied :

  • work = ½ × m(v²-u²)
  • power = work/time

Solution :

work = ½ × m(v²-u²)

= ½ × 10 (20²-0²)

= ½ × 10(400-0)

= ½ × 4000

= 2000 J

hence, Work done = 2000 J

Power = Work/time

= 2000/10

= 200 W

  • work done by bullet = 2000 J
  • power generated = 200 W

Other related Formula:

  • Work done = Force × displacement
  • unit of Power = W ( watt ) , Horsepower (hp)
