To find :
- the work done by the bullet
- the power generated by the bullet
Given :
- initial velocity, u = 0m/s
- final velocity, v = 20m/s
- time, t = 10 s
- mass of bullet, m = 10 g
Formula to be applied :
- work = ½ × m(v²-u²)
- power = work/time
Solution :
work = ½ × m(v²-u²)
= ½ × 10 (20²-0²)
= ½ × 10(400-0)
= ½ × 4000
= 2000 J
hence, Work done = 2000 J
Power = Work/time
= 2000/10
= 200 W
- work done by bullet = 2000 J
- power generated = 200 W
Other related Formula:
- Work done = Force × displacement
- unit of Power = W ( watt ) , Horsepower (hp)
