Simple interest on 8400 at r rate of interest and 2 years would be
8400xRx2 / 100
=168R

compound interest will be 8400(1+R/100)^2
8400(100+R/100)^2
0.84(10000+R^2)-8400

Their difference is 21 hence
168R-0.84(10000+R^2)-8400=21

solving this will give you answer

xenon1: you will have to factoris it and you will get two roots
xenon1: a.k.a 2 answers then you will have to check which one is in the options and choose the one given or else is both are given then both options are correct
xenon1: hope it helped
Pranav777: i know factorisation well
Pranav777: but
Pranav777: you cant r^2 - r
xenon1: roots are for example( x-1) is one factor then you will equate it to zero and hence you will get x=1
Pranav777: you will get the same only na r^2 - r
xenon1: whats the const you got in the equation
xenon1: constant
