Here is your answer,,


As it is given that pole was broken from ground of 9 m height.

It touches the ground at 16m.


Height of pole = AB = 9cm

Touches the ground = BC = 16m

AB + AC = Length of the pole

so, we get ∆ABC as a right angled triangle.

AC^2 = AB^2 + BC^2

= (9)^2 + (16)^2

= 81 + 256

AC = √337

AC = 18.35m


Length of the pole = AB + AC
= 9 + 18.35
= 27.35
