Step-by-step explanation:

as we know that cos(90-theta)=sin theta

tan theta=sin theta/ cos theta

=>cos(90-theta)•cos theta/tan theta

=>sin theta•cos theta/(sin theta/cos theta)

=>sin theta•cos theta•cos theta/sin theta

[so sin theta are cancel out and we get,]

=>cos theta•cos theta=cos^2 theta

now,

=>cos^2 theta+cos^2(90-theta)

[we know that cos^2(90-theta)=sin^2 theta]

so,

=>cos^2 theta +sin^2 theta =1.

so your answer is 1

thanks
