1hectare=10000m^2

1/2hectare=10000/2m^2

=5000m^2

So,

area of the square field = 5000m^2

Let the side of the square be X

Therefore,

X^2= 5000

X = √5000 m

(diagonal)^2 = (side)^2 +(side)^2

[by Pythagoras theorem]

= (√5000)^2 + (√5000)^2

= 5000+5000

= 10000

diagonal = √10000

= 100 m

Hence ,the diagonal of the square field is 100 metres..
