D) Differentiate

i). Back bone and ribs ( number of bones )

- Back bone has greater no. of bones than ribs because in average person there are 33 bones present in back bone and 24 bones are present in ribs.

Notes :- Ribs are connected to the spine (the backbone) backbone, is your body's central support structure. rib cage help protects the organs in the chest, such as the heart and lungs, from damage.

ii) Shoulder And Elbow . ( type of joint )

- Elbow have hinge joint and in shoulder there is glenohumeral joint where glenohumeral joint means structurally a ball-and-socket joint and functionally is considered a diarthrodial, multiaxial, joint and elbow means synovial joint that exists in the body and serves to allow motion primarily in one plane.

Notes :- The joint of shoulder is formed where the humerus (upper arm bone) fits into the scapula (shoulder blade) and the joint of elbow is formed by articulations between the patella, femur and tibia.

iii) Glycolysis And Kreb's Cycle ( amount of energy release)

- The amount of energy release means ATP ( Adenosine triphosphate ) Kreb's Cycle produces more ATP then Glycolysis because Glycolysis produces 2 ATP, 2 NADH, and 2 pyruvate molecules but Krebs cycle and transfers their energy into as many as 32 more ATP molecules.

Notes :- Glycolysis takes place in Cytoplasm of cell but Kreb's Cycle occur in the matrix of mitochondria and the Pyruvate oxidation is the step which connects glycolysis and the Krebs cycle.

iv) Prokaryotic And Eukaryotic Cell . ( nucleus )

- Prokaryotic cell lacks Nuclear membrane like bacteria and other protozoans and Eukaryotic cell have a membrane bound nuclei are called Eukaryotic cell like plants, fungi and animals

Note :- Prokaryotic cell also lacks organelles like

mitochondria, ER, golgi apparatus( Golgi complex) ,lysosomes , vaculoes and microbodies and to the lack of organelles, prokaryotic cells also lack a cytoskeleton. but Ribosomes are found in all cell .

v) Catabolic And Anabolic Process. ( definition)

- Catabolic process involve the break down of complex molecules into more simpler atoms whereas this proces by which require energy to create complex bigger molecules from smaller simpler molecules.

Notes :- Example of catabolic reaction is Respiration

The chemical equation is C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O (glucose + oxygen -> carbon dioxide + water)

Example of anabolic reaction is photosynthesis

the chemical equation is 6CO2 + 6H2O → C6H12O6 + 6O2 Carbon dioxide + water + energy from light produces glucose and oxygen.
