When we talk of greatest 7 digit Number (9,999,999), please note that it is 1 less than the smallest 8 digit number, which is 10,000,000. This has got odd number of zeroes i. e. 7 in this case. When we have even number of zeroes on 1, like 100 or 10,000 or 1,000,000 the squae roots are 10 or 100 or 1,000 respectively and when we talk about odd number of zeroes on 1, like 10 or 1,000 or 100,000 or 10,000,000 the square roots are 3.16227766 or 31.16227766 or 316.227766 or 3,162.27766 respectively.

3,162.27766 is the square root of a smallest 8 digit number and thus the greatest integer having the greatest 7 digit square is 3,162. This is because the square of the next integer i. e. 3,163 is going to be an 8 digit number as discussed above.

Thus, 3,162 is the required answers
