Given , 25% of solution of alcohol
500×(25/100) = 125mL
Means, 500-125 = 375mL is water

Let X be the the amount of Alcohol added to make 42% solution
{(125+X)/(500+X)}×100 = 42%
X = 146.55mL

146.55mL is the answer
