- The pallava king had a well organised administration and introduced sevsral administrative institutions in the Tamil country and they had adopted the Mauryan system of administration. The pallavas had a vast empire, extended up to the Nellore district in the North and upto the river South Pennal in the South.
- Pallavas were followers of Hinduism and made gifts of land to gods and Brahmins. In line with the prevalent customs, some of the rulers performed the Aswamedha and other Vedic Sacrifices. They were, however, tolerant of other faiths.
- Temples were the centre of education during the period of pallavas. Temples also acted as a bank community as no thief would plunder it.
- The first stone and mortar temples of South India were constructed during Pallava rule and were based on earlier brick and river prototypes.
