Given :-

• ABC is a triangle

• P is the mid point of AB

• PQ parallel to BC

• Height = 12cm, AP = 7cm, BC = 10cm,

AC = 11cm

Solution 1 :-

As we know that,

Area of triangle = 1/2 * base * height

Here,

Height = 12cm, Base BC = 10cm

Put the values in the required formula,

Area of triangle ABC = 1/2 * 10 * 12

Area of triangle ABC = 60cm^2

Solution 2 :-

P is the mid point of AB

According to the Mid point theorem,

The line segment connecting the mid points of two sides of triangle is parallel to the third side and is congruent to one half of third side.

Therefore ,

PQ = 1/2 * BC

PQ = 1/2 * 10

PQ = 5cm

Hence, The Length of side PQ. is 5cm

Solution 3 :-

PQ || BC

By using BPT theorem

It states that if a line drawn parallel to one side of a triangle intersecting the other two sides in distinct points, then the other two sides are divided into same ratio .

Here,

It is given that

AP = 7cm

Therefore,

By basic proportionality theorem

AP = AQ

AQ = 7cm

Hence, The length of side

AQ = 7cm.
