Let the numerator of the rational number be x.

Given, Denominator = Numerator + 7

∴ Denominator of the rational number = x + 7

When numerator is increased by 17 and denominator is decreased by 6, the fraction becomes 2.

Original fraction

Let the numerator be x,so the denominator=x+7

x+17/x+7-6=2

x+17/x+1=2

x+17=2x+2

x=15

The rational no. is 15/12...
