Consider the following interleaved memory designs for amain memory system with 16 memory modules. Each module is assumed to have a capacity of 1 Mbyte. The machine is byteaddressable.

Memory Interleaving is an abstraction technique which divides memory into a number of modules such that successive words in the address space are placed in the different module. The memory thus has 16 banks, each of 4 MB.
