Given : 3x^{-1} =\frac{1}{3x}

It can be written as:

=> \frac{3}{x} =\frac{1}{3x}

⇒ 3 * 3x = x * 1

⇒ 9x = x

⇒ 9x - x = 0

⇒ 8x = 0

⇒ x = 0.

No solution!

siddhartharao77: :-)
karthik75: 3x power -1 =3÷x?
siddhartharao77: 0. undefined
sam2009: 3x power (-1) = 1/3x => 3x power (-1) = 1/3x where x is not equal to zero. => 3*1/x = 1/3x => 3/x = 1/3x. =>9x=x. =>8x=0. =>x=0 or x not equal to 0
sam2009: That's what I said.
sam2009: i worte it some other way and it came out in some other way. But they way Sid solved it is correct.
karthik75: ok
karthik75: thanks

hey
____

•we can write 1/3x as 3x to the power -1

•3x to the power -1 = 3x to the power -1

on comparing both sides

when the bases are same that is both the sides there is 3x then we equal the powers

-1 = -1

they both get cancelled

hence, O is the answer

hope helped
