I agree with Siksha,both 5 and 5/3 are rational numbers as they both can be expressed in p/q form where the denominator q is not equal to zero and also in the case of 5/3,it is a non terminating and recurring decimal,therefore it is a rational number and 5 in p/q form is 5/1 therefore 5 is also a rational number.

Need To Know :

Every integer is a rational number, since each integer n can be written in the form n/1. For example 5 = 5/1 and thus 5 is a rational number. However, numbers like 1/2, 45454737/2424242, and -3/7 are also rational, since they are fractions whose numerator and denominator are integers.
