Binary fission :

→ Binary fission is a type of asexual reproduction found in most prokaryotes.

  • In binary fission, a parent cell divides into two identical cells. Example : Amoeba.

Fragmentation :

→ Fragmentation is a type of asexual reproduction which an organism splits into fragments.

  • Example : Hydra, spirogyra etc.

Budding :

→ Budding is a type of asexual reproduction in which new organism develops into bud.

  • Example : Bacteria, yeasts etc.

Regeneration :

→ Regeneration is a process in which an organism get back from its body.

  • Example : Hydra, planaria etc.

\pink{\sf{\star\;Binary\;Fission}}

  • It is one type of a sexual reproduction which occurs in unicellular organisms.
  • Many bacteria and protozoa simply split into two halves during cell division.
  • In organisms like Amoeba, the splitting of two cells during division can take place in any plane.
  • Whereas, some unicellular organisms like Leishmania which causes kala-azar, the binary fission occurs in definite orientation according to their structure.
  • In yeast small buds grow that separate and grow further.
  • In some single celled organisms, like the malarial parasite known as Plasmodium, Multiple Fission takes place where it divides into many daughter cells.

\red{\sf{\star\;Fragmentation}}

  • Fragmentation is a phenomenon in which computer storage space is used inefficiently, reducing capacity or performance of computer and often both.
  • \pink{\sf{\star\;Eample\; Hydra}}

\purple{\sf{\star\;There\; are \;two\; types \;of\; fragmentation:}}

  • 1) External fragmentation- External Fragmentation happens when a dynamic memory allocation allocates some memory and a small piece is left over that cannot be effectively used

  • 2) Internal fragmentation- Internal fragmentation is the space wasted inside of allocated memory blocks because of restriction on the allowed sizes of allocated blocks.

\green{\sf{\star\;Budding}}

  • budding is a type of asexual reproduction happens in plant in this a small part of the parent organism grows out as a bud which detached and becomes a new organism.

  • yeast is a unicellular organism it produces by sending a small out growth from the cell called a bud this process is called buding.
  • \red{\sf{\star\;Eample\; Hydra}}

\blue{\sf{\star\;Regeneration}}

  • Regeneration is a type of asexual reproduction. In this process the  organism has the ability to generate lost or damaged body parts. If a Planaria is cut into small pieces, then each piece develops into a new individual.

  • Regeneration differs from reproduction in the sense that, regeneration can take place from any part of the organism, example cut tail of a lizard. However reproduction is a process in which new organism is formed through specialized cells called gametes. Also regeneration does not necessarily give rise to a new individual, whereas reproduction always produces new individuals from the parent organism
