Bottle is hung at a higher position to transfer medicines into the veins because blood inside veins is at high pressure so we need to put the bottle at such a height so that pressure of medicine when it reaches vein becomes more than the blood pressure so that medicine can transfer easily into the veins.

where d is density of medicine, g is acceleration due to gravity and h is height at which the bottle is placed.
