RAM ROM

Explanation:

RAM is Random Access Memory. It stores the data needed for program that are currently running. RAM is called primary storage. Data is taken from secondary storage, usually the Hard Disk Drive, and waits in RAM until needed by the CPU. Once finished with it passed back to the Hard Drive. RAM is volatile. This means that data is lost if the power is turned off. RAM is measured in giga bytes.

ROM is Read Only Memory. It is non volatile. This means data is permanently stored, even the power is turned off. New data cannot be written to ROM. This means that it is not good for storing data which might need to change.

ROM stores the BIOS, a program which runs when the computer boots up.
