Answer. Each of them possessed a log of wood. They used the log of wood to show their hatred and prejudice towards the person of different race, religion, caste.
(iii) Is there any significance of the logs of wood in the hands of the six persons?
Answer. The log of woods have a great significance. Here, in this story the log of woods represent the lifeline of the six persons. Those logs can save them by keeping the fire alive and saving them from the bitter cold.
(iv) What could these persons have done?
Answer. These persons could have used the logs of wood, which each one of them possessed to keep the fire burning and could have saved themselves from the bitter cold.
