Answer:

Ans 1. (a)

Radius = r

Displacement = shortest distance from initial to final position.

So,

Displacement = Diameter

= 2 X r

= 2r

Distance = lengrrth from the initial point to final point on path.

So,

Distance = half of circumference

= 1/2 X 2πr

= πr

(b).

Displacement = shortest distance ................ .

= 0 m ( As the object completes a circle and comes back to the initial point. )

Distance = length from........................ on path.

= Circumference of the circle

= 2πr

Ans 2.

Diameter = 2r

Radius = half of diameter

= 1/2 X 5

= 2.5 metres

Distance travelled by the particle

in 1 revolution = Circumference of the circle

= 2πr

= 2 X 22/7 X 2.5.

= 15.714 m

Total distance = 3 X 15.714

= 47.142 m

Displacement = 0 m ( As it came back to the initial point).

Ans 3.

The particle starts from A and moves northwards to B. It then

moves eastwards to C and then southwards to D.

Hence, the total distance covered by the particle is

d=ABBCCD=3-4-6=13 m

Now, displacement is the shortest distance be tween the inital and

the final positions. From the fiqure, it is dlear that the dsplacement is

S= AD

From the fiqure, using Pythagoras theorem

AD2 = AE2 -ED2

AE =BC= 4 m

EC=AB =3m

. ED=6-EC =3 m

AD2=42-32 =16-9= 25

:. AD=5 m

Hence, the displacement of the particle is 5 m.

Ans 4.

Distance = 30 km

Time Taken = 6 hours

Speed = Distance / Time

= 30/6

= 5 km/hr

Ans 5.

Average speed = total distance / total time.

Total distance travelled = 16+ 16= 32 m

Total time = 4+2=6s

Average speed = 32/6 = 5.33 m/s

Ans 6.

u=15m/s

v-15m/s

t=1Osec

velocity-u+v/2

15+15/2

-

-

=30/2

=15m/s as,

a body is in uniform

motion .so,there is no

change.

It was my pleasure to solve the problems.

Hope everyone liked it.
