In a family alpha age is the product of beta and gama age, if beta is one year older than gama and Alpha age is 42 then what is the age of Beta after 5years

Let the age of beta be x

then, age of gamma be x-1

age of alpha is given as 42

So, ATQ, we have

42 = x(x-1)

x^2 - x - 42=0

So, (x-7)(x+6)

So, x = 7 years. { this is because x can't be -6}

So, age of beta is 7 years

After 5 years age of beta will be 7+5 = 12 years.
