Biotic resource include natural vegetation and forests, wildlife, aquatic ecosystems of both freshwater and saltwater

stage of development

resource can be classified as potential or actual depending on whether they are being developed currently available for future development

potential resource are known to exist and have been located, but are not being utilised undeveloped presently. They may be developed and utilised in the future. Tidal, solar and geothermal energy resources, in most part of the world are potential resource waiting to be tapped

actual resource depends on their accessibility, cost of development and utilisation, technology available, market conditions and other Socio economic factor.

non renewable resources are either not replaceable or may take millions of year to be e renewed minerals or and fossil fuels are example of non renewable resource it take for example a few years to use up and entire coal seam but to produce one such same mail requires the whole period of geologic time on millions of years

non renewable resources are also unevenly distributed and can be exploited only if they exist in sufficiently large deposit. The non-renewable resource need to be done managed well so that we do not experience scarcity of such resources in the future
