Given triangles ABC and DBC are on the same base BC.

∠A = ∠D = 90°.

⇒ ∠AEB = ∠DEC {Vertically Opposite angles are equal}

⇒ ΔABC ~ ΔDBC {AA Similarity}

⇒ (AE/DE) = (BE/CE)

AE * CE = BE * DE
