Hi !

Third term = a₃ = 16

this can also be written as ;-

a + 2d = 16           ------> [1]

given :-
a₇ - a₅ = 12

this can be written as :-

a₇ = a₅ +12
a + 6d = a + 4d + 12
a + 6d - a - 4d = 12
2d = 12
d = 6

common difference of the A.P is 6

third term :-
a + 2d = 16
a + 2(6) = 16
a + 12 = 16
a = 4

first term is 4
