✔️ Given :-

20 ml of 0.1 M HCl and 40 ml of 0.4 M HCl are mixed and diluted to 100 ml

✔️ To find :-

Molarity of the resultant solution = ?

✔️ Formula :-

Molar concentration = number of solute/ litres of solution

M = n/ L

When we have the same Solution ( here HCl )

M1 V1 = M2 V2

✔️ Solution :-

To find the resultant molarity(Mr) we must add both the solution and gets equated by the product of the sum of both the volumes.

M1 V1 + M2V2 =( 0.1 * 20) + ( 0.4 * 40 )

M1V1 + M2V2 = 2 + 4 = 6

=> M1V1 + M2V2 = Mr ( V1+ V2)

Mr ( 20 + 40 ) = 6

60 Mr = 6

Mr = 0. 1

Therefore the resultant molarity of the volumes = 0.1 M
