(i) No. of moles = given mass / molar mass

Here given mass is 24g and

Molar mass = 2*1 + 16 = 2 + 16 = 18

Therefore, no. of moles = Given mass / molar mass

                                       = 24/18

                                       = 4/3 = 1.33 moles.

(ii) No. of moles = given mass / molar mass

Here given mass is 22g and

Molar mass = 12 + 16*2 = 12 + 32= 44

Therefore, no. of moles = Given mass / molar mass

                                       = 22/44

                                       = 1/2 = 0.5 moles.
