when student focus sun accurate focal length will obtain because image formation of object at infinity takes place at focus.

The student will get more accurate value of focal length of the concave mirror in the case of focusing the sun. Because sun's rays are more parallel (since they are from greater distance). And parallel rays converge at focus of concave mirror.

so when u measure the distance between the image of sun formed and the pole of the concave mirror it gives u the accurate focal length.
