Step-by-step explanation:

When we take the new cases of the questions, we get new coordinates.

So, shifting 4 squares right gives use the new x coordinate as 7.

Now, 3 squares up along the y axis also gives us 4+3 = 7.

But, the opposite coordinates will remain unchanged.

So, the coordinates along the right will be (7,1)

And, the coordinate along the top will be (1,7)

Some important things:-

  • Use distance formula when you need to calculate certain distance.

\tt{\sqrt{(x_2 - x_1) + (y_2 - y_1)}}

Question:-

  • What are the coordinates of the vertices of the image if A moves four squares right and three squares up ?

To Find:-

  • Find the coordinates.

Solution:-

  • If it moves four squares right from ( 3 , 1 ) then it reaches new coordinate ( 7 , 1 ).
  • If it moves three squares up from ( 1 , 4 ) then it reaches new coordinate ( 1 , 7 ).
