( i ) . When two or more resistors are connected together end-to-end in a single branch, the resistors are said to be connected together in series. ... The resistors in a series circuit can be interchanged without affecting the total resistance, current, or power to each resistor or the circuit.

( ii ) .When two or more resistors are connected so that both of their terminals are respectively connected to each terminal of the other resistor or resistors, they are said to be connected together in parallel.

R2 AND R3 IS IN PARALLEL

THEREFORE

Rp=2/2

Rp=1 ohm

after this all are in series so

equivalent resistance will be

= 2+2+2+1 ohm

= 7 ohm

by ohm's law

v = IR

I = V ÷ R

I = 5 ÷ 7

I = 0.7142857143 ampere.
