A car travels 90 km in 2 1/2 hours.

a) How much time is required to cover 30 km with the same speed?

b) Find the distance covered in 2 hours with the same speed.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Find the speed:

Speed = Distance ÷ Time

Speed = 90 ÷ 2.5 hours

Speed = 36 km/h

a) Find the time needed to cover 30 km

Time = Distance ÷ Speed

Time = 30 ÷ 36 = 5/6 hours = 50 mins

b) Find the distance covered in 2 hours

Distance = Speed x Time

Distance = 36 x 2 = 72 km

Answer: (a) 50 mins (b) 72 km
