We have,

Radius of cylinder portion and hemispherical portion of a gulab jamun

= 2.8/2 = 1.4cm

Length of cylindrical portion = 5 - 1.4 - 1.4= 2.2 cm

Volume of one gulab jamun

= Volume of the cylindrical portion + Volume of the hemisphere ends

= π^2 h + 2 × 2/3 πr^3 = πr^2h + 4/3πr*3

=πr^2 (h + 4/3r) = 22/7 × (1.4)^2 (2.2 + 4/3 × 1.4)

=π × 1.4 × 1.4 × (6.6 +5.6)/3 = π × 1.96 × 12.2/3

Therefore the volume of 45 gulab jamuns = 45 × 22/7 × 1.96 × 12.2/3

Quantity of syrup in 45 gulab jamuns = 30% of their Volume

= 30/100 × 45 × 22/7 × 1.96 × 12.2/3

= 338.184 cm*3 = 338 cm*3
